Creating SAS Environment Manager Saved Charts
The home page of the SAS Environment Manager web application is the dashboard. By default, the dashboard is empty:
The dashboard can be set up to use a number of different portlets to show near real-time performance metrics of the SAS platform to help SAS Administrators monitor it. One way of doing this is to create a Saved Charts portlet on the dashboard.
To create a Saved Charts portlet first, you must log on to SAS Environment Manager web application:
HTTP URL: http://mid-tier_server_name:7080
HTTPS URL: https://mid-tier_server_name:7443
Your account must be a member of SAS Environment Manager group in metadata.
Select the Resource tab and then select Browse from the drop down menu.
In this example SAS is configured on a single server. If your SAS platform is configured across multiple servers, each one will be listed here. To see the server resources, select the name of the relevant server rather than SAS 9.4 Application Server tier from the list of platforms.
This will display the screen below:
Use the menu on the left-hand side to select which group of performance metrics to display on this page. Highlighted on the right hand side in the screenshot above is an example of a single resource to monitor, in this case the utilisation of the CPU.
To add this to the dashboard, click on the resource name, in this example CPU Usage (highlighted above). This will display the chart as shown below.
Click Save Chart to Dashboards above the chart. Select which user’s dashboard to save the chart to using the pop up window, shown below:
The saved chart will now be displayed on the selected dashboard:
Only one Saved Charts portlet can be displayed on each dashboard, however, multiple charts can be added to the portlet.
Further charts can be added by repeating the steps above. By default, the portlet will scroll through the charts every 10 seconds.
