Web Classes - Learn SAS From Your Desk
The workplace will never be the same again.
2020 has seen some unprecedented changes in organisations’ workplace flexibility and policies. With many employees working from their homes, businesses are finding new and innovative ways ensure productivity levels are maintained, and staff are suitably stimulated and developed.
Here at Amadeus, we have embraced the new style of working by delivering our instructor-led SAS training through web classes.
And we’ve learnt a lot along the way.
Web delivery requires a new, subtle approach to training, for example, giving our web-attendees shorter, but more frequent breaks to ensure ‘screen-fatigue’ doesn’t set in.
Delivering live web training from our in-house training room, we give our web-attendees a chance to view different areas of the training room, with several strategically placed webcams. Whether it’s the instructor’s screen, their face, the white-board, or a view of the whole classroom, the attendee can choose which camera to focus on, when they want to.
Attendees also have the opportunity to share their screen with the instructor to help with workshop exercises.
As with our face to face training, our web-attendees follow our full training content, with hard-copy notes delivered to their home.
To ensure a smooth-running web class, our instructors perform personal pre-training connection tests, where we ensure the attendees can successfully connect to our classes. During the test we also help setup the data and demo files used during our hands-on workshop exercises, as well as answer any questions the delegates might have to prepare them for the training.
For our delegates to participate fully in the web classes, we ask that they have a strong internet connection plus access to their organisation’s SAS interface, relevant to the training they are attending. Use of a microphone and webcam will also allow essential communication with the instructor.
We have been extremely pleased with the positive feedback we have received from our web attendees and have therefore included web-classes as a permanent addition to our Amadeus training options. And, as well as following our public training schedule, our web training classes are also available as ‘closed’ sessions for organisations wishing to gain exclusive access to our instructors.
