Analytics in Action at SAS® Global Forum 2019

The SAS Global Forum is always a highlight of the conference calendar here at Amadeus and this year was no exception. With over 5500 attendees and more than 700 scheduled user sessions, there was a mind-blowing amount of information and experience to absorb over the course of the event!

SAS Partner Forum

Amadeus joined many other global SAS partners at this year's Partner Forum, which focused on the future for SAS, particularly looking at the direction for SAS® Viya® and exploring the opportunities for SAS and AI to work hand-in-hand to maximise business insight and improve customer experience.

Analytics in Action

During the conference itself, the buzz phrase on everyone’s lips was “Analytics in Action”. This type of heavily statistical analysis is the present and could be the future for many customers across the globe, with SAS offering a range of exciting solutions and opportunities to empower business decision-making through the likes of deep learning, AI and machine learning.

The crowds also enjoyed some fascinating insights into exactly how the remarkable power of SAS is being put into use in the real world. We saw a fantastic example of #DataForGood for liver cancer diagnostics using SAS Viya; Natural Language Processing to automatically translate complicated deep learning models into interpretable insights; automated Machine Learning to identify optimal models, and SAS Mobile Visual investigator – allowing support services to protect people who may be at risk.  You can find further insight via the recorded sessions.

Software updates

Other discussions included key software updates on the horizon, including SAS Visual Analytics 7.5 (released on 28th May), Enterprise Guide 8.1 (scheduled for release in June) and SAS Viya 3.5 (set to be released in December).
