Three Amadeus SAS experts have been selected to present their technical papers at the 2018 SAS® Global Forum. Each will be presenting concise practical examples derived from Amadeus’ collective Consultancy experience.

David Shannon, Technical Director at Amadeus Software, will be presenting on Programming for CAS in session 2622. Techniques, programming patterns and performance benchmarking of SAS® Viya™’s CAS engine are covered from the perspective of a SAS 9 programmer. David illustrates such powerful performance enhancements that he added a prefix to the title - look out for the subtly named: “Come on Baby Light My Viya: Programming for CAS”!

Carrie Foreman, Consultant, will be presenting in session 2597, “SAS and Python: The Perfect Partners in Crime”. Carrie’s paper illustrates the integration of open source technology with the SAS platform by using Python to ingest online UK crime data, wrangling that data into shape for analytics and using SAS analytics for governed and validated insight. Carrie covers the use of SASPy from Jupyter Notebook.

Senior Consultant Jason Hawkins will be leading session 2620, discussing his paper, “Troubleshooting your SAS Grid Platform”. Jason’s presentation will highlight key strategies for troubleshooting issues within SAS environments to heighten environment resilience and maximise return on investment. He will cover Windows and UNIX topologies using both shared and individual configuration directories.
